NEW YORK (Sporting Alert) — Deron Williams will play for the Brooklyn Nets on Monday against the New York Knicks, but the star point guard will come off the bench.

Williams has been nursing an ankle and rookie head coach Jason Kidd will limit his minutes during his recovery.
The 29-year-old has missed the Nets’ last five games because of a sprained left ankle injury, but took part in training on Sunday and can play.
With Williams on the bench, Shaun Livingston will start.
Meanwhile, for New York, Pablo Prigioni will start as the shooting guard.
