EPL Standings Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

LIVERPOOL, Sporting Alert – Daniel Sturridge and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain both start for Liverpool in today’s Premier League crunch-time clash with Chelsea at Anfield.

To the surprise of many, including several Liverpool supporters, Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to start with Sturridge and Oxlade-Chamberlain with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino dropping to the bench.

Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan will start in the heart of the backline, with Philippe Coutinho and Mohamed Salah also starting.

Midfielder Emre Can and defender Dejan Lovren missed out because of injury, while Adam Lallana is on the bench and could make his first appearance of the season.

Meanwhile, Chelsea, have also made a couple of surprising decision, as manager Antonio Conte opts to recall Andreas Christensen and hands Danny Drinkwater a rare start.

Christensen will play alongside Gary Cahill, who is also back in the defense with David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger making way and are both on the bench.

Drinkwater, in the meantime, comes in for Cesc Fabregas while Victor Moses is on the bench and is available following a six-week absence with a hamstring setback.
