MANCHESTER (Sporting Alert) — Manchester United manager David Moyes has made five changes to the side that was beaten at Chelsea in the EPL for tonight’s Capital One Cup clash with Sunderland at Old Trafford.
Sunderland lead the two-way tie 2-1 after winning the first leg.
There is still no Robin van Persie, nor will his strike partner Wayne Rooney play, as they are still not fit enough for this second leg tie.
Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez will lead the attack, while Shinji Kagawa comes back into the lineup and will play his favourite playmaker role behind the pair.
Darren Fletcher, Chris Smalling and Alexander Buttner are the others coming into the side, with Antonio Valencia and Ashely Young making way.
Defender and captain Nemanja Vidic starts his three match ban for his second off at Stamford Bridge in the EPL.
For Sunderland, Steven Fletcher will lead the attack, as American frontman Jozy Altidore has been left on the bench, alongside new recruits Santiago Vergini and Oscar Ustari.
