UPDATED: NFL Scores Today In Week 6 On Oct. 16

DALLAS, Sporting Alert – NFL scores and results from the games that took place in Week 6 on Sunday, October 16.

Week 6 saw the Carolina Panthers sliding to yet another defeat, while the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills both picked up impressive wins at home.

Cam Newton made a return to the starting lineup after missing one game because of concussion symptoms, but he was unable to prevent the Panthers from losing their fourth successive game in a row.

Drew Brees threw four touchdown passes and went 34 of 49 on pass completion for 465 yards for the Saints (2-3) to win their second straight game after losing the opening three games to start the season.

Brandin Cooks took seven catches for 173 yards and one touchdown, while Michael Thomas, Coby Fleener and Josh Hill all caught TD passes from Brees for New Orleans, which tallied 465 receiving yards.

Jonathan Stewart carried the ball 19 times for 85 yards and two touchdowns for the Panthers (1-5), who were losing for the fourth time in a row.

Newton was 27 of 47 on passes for 322 yards, while throwing touchdown passes to Devin Funchess and Ed Dickson.

Greg Olsen had six catches for 94 yards, while Kelvin Benjamin caught the ball eight times for 86 yards.

Meanwhile, LeSean McCoy ran for 140 yards and three scores and the Buffalo Bills extended their winning streak to four games with a 45-16 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

McCoy ran for 4, 12 and 18-yard scores to help the Bills (4-2) easily put away San Francisco (1-5), which dropped its fifth game in a row.

Colin Kaepernick was handed the starting place for the 49ers on Sunday and he went 13 of 29 for 187 yards and passed for one touchdown.

He also ran for 66 yards in the defeat.

Torrey Smith took three catches for 76 yards one touchdown for San Francisco.

Also on Sunday, Tom Brady went 29 of 35 on passes for 376 and three touchdowns and Rob Gronkowski took seven catches for 162 yards and a score for the New England Patriots in a 35-17 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Rookie quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 247 yards and three touchdowns, and the Dallas Cowboys beat the Green Bay Packers 30-16 for their fifth win in a row.

Fellow rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott had 28 carries for 157 yards for Dallas.
