A total of four matches are scheduled for day four with Fox Sports 1, Fox Sports Plus, Fox Sports GO, TSN2 and TSN GO among the networks providing live streaming coverage of all four encounters.

At the Gdynia Stadium CONCACAF giants, Mexico will seek to avoid a second successive defeat when they take on Japan in a Group A match at 9:30 am ET.

Japan, which played to a 1-1 draw Ecuador in the opener, will be looking to stay close to the top of the group with a win and the Samurai Blue are confident about picking up the three points.

Also in Group B, Ecuador will face Italy in a game that promises to be entertaining.

A victory for Gli Azzurrini, who finished third at the U-20 World Cup in 2017, would see them booking a place into the next round.

Colombia tagged Poland 2-0 in the opening game of the group on Thursday, while Senegal beat Tahiti 3-0 to go top of the group on goal difference.

Poland will aim to rebound from the early defeat with a win over Tahiti.

Klinsmann has elected to hand young talent Christian Pulisic a starting place again.

The 18-year-old is making his third straight start for the U.S., following his senior debut in March at this same venue in a 4-0 thrashing of Guatemala.

Pulisic will play the No. 10 role and will slot in behind forwards Jozy Altidore and Bobby Wood.

Copa America Scores Group C: June 5

By:MARK SMITH | CARIBBEAN CONTRIBUTOR Published on: June 5, 2016 10:14 pm Leave a Comment

CHICAGO, Sporting Alert – Scores and results from the two games that took place in the Copa America tournament in Group C on Sunday June 5.

Mexico and Venezuela both secured wins on the day, with the former moving to the top of the group on goal difference after a comfortable win over Uruguay in the second game.

Mexico 3, Uruguay 1

Mexico jumped ahead in the fourth minute when Alvaro Pereira put the ball past his own goalkeeper.

A perfectly played delivery inside the box from Andres Guardado was too hot for Pereira to handle, and under pressure from Hector Herrera, the defender only succeeded in heading past a stranded Fernando Muslera in the Uruguay goal.

Uruguay was reduced to 10-players just before the halftime after Matías Vecino was sent off for second yellow card, following a bad foul on Mexico’s Jesus Corona on the wing.

Mexico was also trimmed down to 10 after Guardado was sent off for a second yellow from a foul and immediately after that, the South Americans drew level at 1-1.

From the resulting free-kick, Carlos Sánchez found the head of his captain Diego Godín, who beat Alfredo Talavera in the 74th minute.

However, Mexico went back in front six minutes from time when veteran centre-back Rafael Márquez fired home a powerful right footed shot into the top right corner of the goal, following a corner kick.

The CONCACAF side then put the game to bed in stoppage with Herrera headed home into an empty net from close range.

El Tri, who remain undefeated under Juan Carlos Osorio and have won nine-games in a row, will next play Jamaica on Thursday, while Uruguay will play Venezuela on the same day.

Venezuela 1, Jamaica 0

CHICAGO — Josef Martinez scored the only goal at Soldier Field in Chicago and Venezuela stopped 10-man Jamaica 1-0 in their Group C opener in the Copa America Sunday.

Venezuela took advantage of a giveaway by Jamaica on a clearance attempt in the midfield and after some slick passing combination, Martinez provided the final touch by slotting home a left-footed shot under Jamaica’s goalkeeper Andre Blake in the 15th minute.

The Reggae Boyz were reduced to 10-players in the 23rd minutes, after captain and hard-hitting midfielder Rodolph Austin was shown a straight red card for a bad studs-up challenge on Venezuela’s Tomas Rincon.

Austin got the ball first and made the interception, but the referee decided to send the Jamaican off for Recklessness.

Reggae Boyz head coach Winfried Schaefer was also sent to the stands for the entire second, after he apparently argued with the officials about the sending off of Austin.

Jamaica missed a number chances to knot the game, with Michael Hector and Adrian Mariappa both hitting the post.

The Caribbean side’s goalkeeper Blake also stopped Venezuela from adding to their tally in the 70th minute, after pulling off a brilliant diving save.

CONCACAF World Cup Qualifier Results, Highlights: Nov. 13

By:BARBARA SAMPSON Published on: November 14, 2015 12:25 pm Leave a Comment

ST. LOUIS, MO. Sporting Alert – United States and Mexico both started the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying semi-final round with victories, but Jamaica failed to impress at home.

In front of a crowd of 43,433 at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri, USA rallied from a goal down to hammer Saint Vincent and The Grenadines 6-1 to race to the top of Group C after one game.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA4Ikw548zw

A brace from Jozy Altidore setup the victory for the North American giants who are the heavy favourites to top this group.

“In Jozy we have a very special player. He’s going through ups and downs. You have to stay calm and work even harder,” said USA head coach Jurgen Klinsmann.

But it was Saint Vincent and The Grenadines, who took a shocking lead in the fifth minute when Oalex Anderson picked up a Geoff Cameron (USA) intercepted pass on the left flank before advancing forward with a few touches and fired past Tim Howard.

USA rebounded big time, though – scoring three unanswered goals in the opening 31 minutes through Bobby Wood, Fabian Johnson and Altidore to take a dominating 3-1 lead at halftime.

Klinsmann’s side kept pressing for more goals after the break and netted three more in the second half en route to the convincing home victory, despite playing without star forward Clint Dempsey.

Klinsmann handed CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying debut appearances to Tim Ream, Bobby Wood, DeAndre Yedlin, Gyasi Zardes, Matt Miazga, Jordan Morris and Darlington Nagbe for the United States.

Mexico 3, El Salvador 0

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CwibnuNDc2g

Another North American giants, Mexico eased to a 3-0 victory over El Salvador after getting off to a quick start.

Andres Guardado expertly fired home a free-kick past the goalkeeper to give El Tri the lead in the seventh minute.

Hector Herrera made it 2-0 in the 42nd minute with a wonderful finish that tricked both Javier Hernandez, who desperately tried to get a touch on the ball, as well as the goalkeeper.

The home side also took advantage of some poor defending in the back by the El Salvador defenders to make it 3-0 in the 64th minute as Carlos Vela put away a delightful through pass from Jesus Corona.

Jamaica Reggae Boyz Stunned At Home

Meanwhile, CONCACAF Gold Cup runners-up Jamaica were poor at home and were punished for it after falling 2-0 to Panama.

The Reggae Boyz went into the game with a lot of confidence but failed to deliver on the pitch, as the home supporters left the National Stadium in Kingston, very disappointed.

Armando Cooper scored the pick of the goals for Panama with a wonderful free-kick in the 43rd minute before Alberto Quintero added a second shortly after the halftime break to sink the home side, which needs to quickly pick itself back up before the next game against Haiti, who fell 1-0 to Costa Rica in the other Group B game on the night.

In other results in the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying semi-final round on Friday night, Khaleem Hyland and Kenwyne Jones scored second-half goals to push Trinidad and Tobago to a 2-1 road win over Guatemala, while Canada edged Honduras 1-0 after Cyle Larin netted the winner midway through the second half.

T&T and Panama were the other two teams with roads wins in CONCACAF qualifying action Friday night.

CONCACAF World Cup Qualifiers Scores

Mexico 3-0 El Salvador
Canada 1-0 Honduras
Costa Rica 1-0 Haiti
Jamaica 0-2 Panama
USA 6-1 Saint Vincent and The Grenadines
Guatemala 1-2 Trinidad and Tobago

Netherlands v Mexico Live Scores

Vela is making a return for El Tri for the first time in three years and the Real Sociedad star forward joins Hernandez, who is on loan at Real Madrid from Manchester United, in the attack.

The 25-year-old Vela had asked not to be considered for a recall up in the past, as he had a few personal things he needed to take care of before playing again for his country.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar will lead the attack in the absence of Manchester United forward Robin van Persie, with Memphis Depay, Ricardo van Rhijn and Joel Veltman all starting as well for a Dutch side needing to find form ahead of a few key Euro 2016 qualifiers.

On the bench are Gregory van der Wiel, Stefan de Vrij, Jeffrey Bruma, Leroy Fer, Georginio Wijnaldum and Nigel de Jong.
